Ankur Bindal, MD, MPH, FAPA, FAASM, is a board-certified psychiatrist and the CEO, co-founder, and president of KAB Medical Group Inc. in San Diego and Chula Vista , California.
A highly trained physician, Dr. Bindal has more than 16 years of experience in medicine. In addition to holding board certification in psychiatry, from American Board of Psychiatry & neurology, he is a Board certified sleep medicine practitioner and SAMHSA buprenorphine prescriber.
A native of India, Dr. Bindal earned his medical doctorate from Government Medical College in Chandigarh, India, in 2003. He quickly moved to Fort Worth, Texas, to earn a master’s degree in public health at the University of North Texas Health Science Center.
Dr. Bindal later completed his adult psychiatry residency at the Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi. He also received sleep medicine training from the Department of Neurology at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Dr. Bindal practices a comprehensive approach to psychiatric treatment. From medication management and cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) to sleep medicine and transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), his goal is to help his patients lead productive, healthy lives.
As a highly regarded psychiatrist, Dr. Bindal earned the American Society of Clinical Psychopharmacology/National Institute of Mental Health Clinical Scholars travel award, the prestigious Diversity Leadership Fellowship Award by the American Psychiatric Association, and the Ed Draper Outstanding Senior Resident Award.
He has also presented extensively at national conferences and is represented at Graduate Medical Education (GME) committees.
